The American Way of War Pack

Three ziplock back issues for just $70.00!

The American Way of War package ...

What a great way to introduce yourself (or a friend) to ATO games, or catch up on back issues you've been meaning to get. A price like this is almost "buy 2, get one free." Don't miss it!

Throughout most of its history, America has gone to war with enthusiasm and expectations of a quick victory. It has not always worked that way. In the end, massive resources have -- usually -- tipped the balance toward America's goals...but even that has sometimes had mixed results. (See "War with Spain -- Philippine Insurrection.")

Welcome to the American Way of War, an historical mixture of misplaced efforts, and massive resources to redeem them.

Now, here is your chance to pick up award-winning titles at a bargain price - but that's "The American Way of doing business."

A Dark and Bloody Ground

A Dark and Bloody Ground presents the little-known five-year struggle that the brand new United States waged on its western border, against Native Americans and recalcitrant British supporters. St. Clair's initial expedition to punish the Natve Americans met disaster at Wabash, Ohio. Stung by the defeat, the young US Government mobilized to conquer the then "Northwest Territories" in a bloody campaign most famous, perhaps, for its atrocities....

Birth of a Legend

The Seven Days Campaign, fought from June 26th to July 2nd, 1862, represented the Union's finest chance to put an early end to the great rebellion, and the Confederacy's best shot at "bagging" an entire Union Army. Aggressive and imaginative by nature, the new Confederate commander, Robert E. Lee summoned virtually every spare unit the South could muster for that rarest of Southern advantages, numerical superiority.

Khe Sahn, 1968

And Khe Sahn, 1968 depicts another kind of madness, as both sides of the Vietnam conflict make a maximum effort for a place one U.S. general said, "When you're at Khe Sanh, you're not really anywhere. You could lose it and you really haven't lost a damn thing." This is a reprint of ATO #2, our first Charles Roberts Award winner for 2002.
